Kim Brown-Seely

Kim Brown Seely’s luminous memoir, UNCHARTED: A Couple’s Epic Empty-Nest Adventure Sailing from One Life to Another, was recently published by Sasquatch Books/Penguin Random House. Winner of the 2016 Lowell Thomas Journalist of the Year Award and a Nautilus Book Award, she worked for many years as senior editor at Travel & Leisure magazine, contributing editor at National Geographic Adventure, and travel editor at Microsoft.

She is a contributing writer for Virtuoso Life magazine, where she has won nearly a dozen awards for her work and enjoys writing about far-flung places. She is a former board president of Seattle Arts and Lectures and currently serves on the board of Copper Canyon Press. She graduated from Stanford University and divides her time between Seattle, Washington, and Hailey, Idaho.
