Mischa Schuler

Mischa Schuler, director of Wild Carrot Herbs, practices a mix of clinical herbalism, craniosacral therapy, and shamanic skills in her garden yurt in Portland, Maine.

She brings over twenty years of experience to connecting plants and people to further health and well-being at the personal, community and global level. Mischa creates a space of empowerment and ease in her clinical work with adults and teens through incorporating ceremony, herbal preparations, and sensory observation in the physical and emotional healing process.

Mischa’s educational journey includes formal training though a Masters degree in Herbal Medicine from the Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health) and through live-in herbal apprenticeship with Deb Soule at Avena Botanicals, and many plant related jobs including working at the Smithsonian Institute and the American Horticultural Society. Mischa facilitates classes, retreats, and apprenticeships focused on engagement of the senses, relationship with the plants, and connection to one’s ancestors.

She continues her personal education through daily prayer, regular walks along the same path through the woods, a stack of books next to her bedside table, and devotion to the plants and plant spirits of her garden in all weathers.
